Scientific publisher Springer has launched SpringerLink, a mobile application for iPhone and iPod Touch.
Free to download from the iTunes App Store, it provides access to the science platform
www.springerlink.com which offers more than 5.4 million documents on science, technology and medicine from over 2,000 scientific and specialist journals and 49,000 books.
The SpringerLink mobile app includes features such as personalised notifications, save and share abilities, advanced search, document details with abstracts and full-text views for institutional subscribers. Users also have a multi-functional home screen, allowing for keyboard and advanced searches; the latter incorporating a save search feature.
“The SpringerLink mobile application represents Springer’s continued focus on providing useful digital tools to researchers, students and professionals,” said Patricia Cleary of the group’s eproduct management division. “As more and more research is done away from the desk and on the go, it is our responsibility to make sure our customers are equipped to conveniently access Springer’s vast collection of content.”
